DESCRIPTION:Influenza A viruses (IAVs)\, the cause of flu\, are respirator
y pathogens circulating between humans and zoonotic reservoirs. Annual sea
sonal outbreaks\, occasional global pandemics and sporadic zoonotic IAV in
fections contribute to substantial mortality and morbidity worldwide. Due
to rapid antigenic evolution of the viral glycoproteins\, licensed\, strai
n-specific seasonal influenza vaccines exhibit suboptimal effectiveness de
spite annual reformulations. In this thesis\, I explore synthetic biology
platforms for vaccine antigen design and delivery to develop and assess br
 oad-spectrum influenza immunogens in mice.\n
