DESCRIPTION:Dr Bronwyn Parry\, Reader at Queen Mary University of London\,
  has been collaborating with two of the longitudinal cohort studies run fr
 om the Department of Public Health and Primary Care here - Cambridge City 
 over-75s Cohort (CC75C) study and the Medical Research Council Cognitive F
 unction and Ageing Study (MRC-CFAS). The Wellcome Trust awarded funding to
  Dr Parry under the "Public Involvement in Science" programme to put toget
 her an exhibition about brain donation - */Mind over Matter/* - with photo
 graphs and recordings of some of the "oldest old" participants who are int
 ending to donate through these two studies of ageing\, after many years' p
 articipation in repeated cognitive assessments. The project was short-list
 ed from over a hundred entries for presentation at "The\nEye of the Storm"
 \, a Tate Britain symposium that aims to highlight cutting edge arts/scien
 ce collaborative work in new challenging areas. Photographs from the exhib
 ition will be screened during the talk.
