DESCRIPTION:The production of a top–quark pair in association with a jet
  is a key process for precision studies of the Standard Model and an impor
 tant background in searches for new physics. Achieving reliable prediction
 s requires full control over two-loop amplitudes depending on six kinemati
 c invariants. In this talk\, I will present NNLO predictions for the cross
  section and differential distributions of this process\, obtained using n
 ewly computed leading-colour two-loop matrix elements. I will discuss the 
 derivation of the double-virtual contributions and the analytic derivation
  of the finite remainder in terms of a set of special functions\, evaluate
 d through direct numerical integration of their differential equations.
