  platforms in providing the infrastructure through which health disinforma
 tion is advertised and circulated. The presentation will examine several c
 ase studies exploring how platforms are leveraged to promote and spread di
 sinformation surrounding scientifically unsupported cancer treatments. Pla
 tforms examined will include Google keyword advertising\, Meta (Facebook a
 nd Instagram) ads\, Google Reviews\, Amazon marketplaces\, and crowdfundin
 g platforms such as GoFundMe. The talk will emphasize moving away from bla
 ming individuals and toward building accountable systems that prevent\, mi
 tigate\, and respond to disinformation\, while strengthening platform acco
 untability.\n\nBio: Marco Zenone (he/him) is an Assistant Professor of Hea
 lth Science Communication at the Faculty of Health Sciences\, University o
 f Ottawa. His research examines the spread\, impact\, and political econom
 y of health misinformation and disinformation\, as well as how health topi
 cs are portrayed across digital platforms and public spaces. A major focus
  is examining digital platforms as commercial determinants of health and h
 ow their infrastructures shape the production\, circulation\, and visibili
 ty of health disinformation. His research emphasizes moving beyond individ
 ual blame toward building accountable systems that prevent\, mitigate\, an
 d respond to health disinformation.
