DESCRIPTION:Abstract: \n\nFrom 1956\, Rolls-Royce has developed\, built\,
and supported the reactors of the Royal Navy nuclear submarine fleet.
Facing unique engineering challenges\, research into new methods and techn
ologies has been integral to its success.  One such challenge is the tra
nsport of spent fuel.  New computational methods have been developed to
reduce the conservatism associated with spent fuel transport and open aven
ues for future applications. \n\nBio: \n\nPaul Walmsley is the Section Le
ad for Criticality at Rolls-Royce.  Paul specialises in criticality anal
ysis of the manufacturing\, transport\, commissioning\, and spent fuel man
agement of reactor cores.  Paul is a Chartered Physicist and a member of
several national and international groups working on new techniques\, met
hods\, and best practice in the field of nuclear criticality. \n\nThis is
one of two speakers at this event.
