DESCRIPTION:We study the behavior of the elastic polymer\, as introduced b
 y Mezard and Parisi in 1991\, i.e. a model of a directed polymer in a high
 -dimensional Gaussian random environment. We compute its free energy\, as 
 well as the phase transition and replica-symmetry breaking picture of its 
 Gibbs measure. In particular we describe its wandering exponent\, for vari
 ous types of random environments.\n\nThis talk is based on joint work with
  Pax Kivimae (University of Colorado)\n
