DESCRIPTION:Over the past decade\, microfluidics emerged as an efficient r
esearch tool in chemistry\, physics\, fluid mechanics\, biology and clinic
al medicine. It also showed promising applications in producing high-value
materials. In this lecture I will review our progress in three areas\, na
mely\, (i) in the generation of polymer colloids with a precise control of
their shapes\, compositions and internal structures\; (ii) in cell studie
s and (iii) in studies and applications of CO2 in the microfluidic format.
