DESCRIPTION:Anti-counterfeiting technology can be a cost burden to product
  companies and brands. On the other hand\, authentication can provide an o
 pportunity to offer additional benefits to your consumers. The first meeti
 ng of Cambridge Network's Consumer Products & Supply SIG\, which is champi
 oned by Founder Members Cambridge Consultants Limited and Procter & Gamble
 \, will explore the technologies that are helping consumers learn more abo
 ut the products they are buying and the opportunities these represent.\n\n
 We are delighted to have speaking:\n\nRuth Thomson. Business Development C
 onsultant\, Authentication Systems\, for Cambridge Consultants. Ruth will 
 cover the growing problem of counterfeiting and the trends\, how technolog
 y is currently being used (covert\, semi-covert\, overt and serialisation)
 \, give some insight into why consumers buy fake goods and project how aut
 hentication will add value to consumers.\n\nColin Peacock (pictured)\, Dir

 as conducted multiple research projects on counterfeiting and brand protec
 tion organisation with academia and is co-Author with Adrian Beck of New L
 oss Prevention – Redefining Shrinkage Management. He will show the impac
 t of the problem & benefits of resolution\, identify some critical anti-co
 unterfeiting strategies\, explain the role of features & technologies and 
 describe how new technologies can be introduced through pilots and the sta
 keholders involved.\n\nFranck Bourrieres\, CEO\, Prooftag - who specialise
  in developing high-security solutions for documents and brand protection 
 with the BubbleTag\, a security technology that can be controlled visually
  with a simple Internet connection on PC or mobile phone\, and electronica
 lly with a reader. Franck will give some examples of how the BubbleTag tec
 hnology is being used\, particularly focusing on how consumers can interac
 t with the system and lay out future plans to build consumer focused authe
 ntication.\n\nThe presentations will be followed by Q&A and discussion\, w
 ith a networking drinks reception and buffet afterwards. The meeting will
