DESCRIPTION:A model was proposed and investigated in attempt to fin some s
olutions to the problem of HIV/AIDS given the presence of HIV testing and
counselling in resource limited settings. The threshold quantities were de
termined and stabilities analysed. From the analysis of the reproduction n
umber it was found out that HIV positive individuals who know their status
and have not disclosed it have a great potential to fuel the epidemic. Nu
merical simulations carried out seem to suggest that in the end there will
be more people who know their HIV status than those who do not know. Furt
her\, this suggests the future of the epidemic will be driven by people wh
o know their status and have not disclosed it. It therefore seems that mor
e needs to be done in resource-limited settings as far as the HIV/AIDS epi
 demic is concerned.
