DESCRIPTION:Most developed countries are struggling to find the best way t
 o improve the quality of medical care. Financial incentives to doctors are
  increasingly popular with payers and the NHS has embarked on the largest 
 experiment in ‘pay for performance’ in the world with 25% of GPs’ in
 come now tied to the quality of care that they provide. This seminar will 
 present an evaluation of pay for performance in UK primary care\, and earl
 y results from its extension into the hospital sector.
