Mantas is PhD student in the dept of social anth ropology\, this is his first feature and it's being produced by Aki Kauris maki. The project hasn't reached its definitive form yet and Mantas is eag er to screen his film for people who can give him feedback\, so if you cou ld make it to the screening that would be great!\n\n Here's some more info about the documentary:\n\nIn a Chechen city recovering after the war a ma n disappears. As daily life goes by those in search are drawn into the wor ld where encounters with diviners and legal advisors\, with torturers and tortured\, with secret prisons and mythical lakes become commonplace. When the disappeared do return in dreams\, they are said to come from Barzakh - a land between the living and the dead.\nDocumentary was filmed in Chech nya with the help of local people who managed to keep the filming secret a nd filmmaker relatively safe during two years of shooting (Dec 2007 - Sept 2009). Produced by Aki Kaurismaki (Sputnik OY) and Iikka Vehkalahti (YLE TV) documentary is now in the pre-final cut stage (consulting editor Timo Linnasalo).
