can help each other - Graham Treece (Evelyn Trust Lecturer in Engineering
  Department)

DESCRIPTION:Collaborating with someone from another group is never easy\,
let alone someone from another department. Yet there are many gains to be
made from this sort of cooperation. Over the years there have been several
successful examples of Engineering / Clinical collaboration in Cambridge.
Often problems which clinicians have been working on for a while already
have a known engineering solution\, and all it takes is the application of
this in a new area. Sometimes interesting engineering ideas can find new
meaning and justification in the clinical arena. This is what the Engineer
ing for Clinical Practice initiative (http://divf.eng.cam.ac.uk/ecp) seeks
to facilitate. This talk will outline the initiative in general\, and giv
e a couple of examples of successful collaboration in the field of ultraso
und imaging with particular application to cancer.
LOCATION:Seminar Room 3\, Alan Reece Building Institute for Manufacturing
