DESCRIPTION:Crime and violence are major social problems in Brazil and man
 y other\ndeveloping countries. However\, nearly all large-scale studies ha
 ve been conducted in high income countries\, like Britain. This talk will 
 review findings on childhood origins of crime and violence in British stud
 ies\, and describe plans for a 5-year research project in Brazil.
