DESCRIPTION:Dear all\,\n\nCamtessential is a high-end China development fo
rum in Cambridge and cross-border business bridge between UK\, US\, Europe
and China. We have been very honored to invite Ada Lau\, a top female ne
ws anchor of the Chinese media to give a lecture at Cambridge Union on Mon
day the 7th\, June. This is a free event co-hosted by Camtessential\, Camb
ridge University United Nations Association and Marshall Society.\n\n\n \n
\nTalk by Ada Lau\, top female news anchor of the Chinese media.\n\n\n\n"W
itnessing a rapidly changing China: 2000 to 2010"\n\n-- China's transforma
tion and its real dynamics from a unique\, personal perspective\n\n\n\nWhe
 n: Monday 7th June 2010\, 5pm (admission before 4.45pm\, as late entries m
ay not be permitted)\n\nWhere: Cambridge Union Chamber\, 9a Bridge Street\
 , Cambridge\, CB2 1UB View map\n\nEntrance free for all.\n\n\nAs one of th
e most popular and well received icons in the Chinese media\, Ada Lau of P
hoenix TV is a top female news anchor\, presenting many insightful thought
s and raising the bar on finance programs in the media field with more com
prehensive and incisive reports. An ex investment banker on Wall Street (w
ith ML and GS) and involved in numerous financing and acquisition projects
\, Ada has moved a long way as someone with a degree in Logistic Engineeri
ng from Cornell.\n\nChina is probably the fastest changing country in the
world today\, and the first ten years of our new millennium is one of the
most exciting times to be working in China. After 30 years of opening up a
nd reform\, China has established a functional market economy yet at the s
ame time opportunites still abound. People tend to focus a great deal on C
hina's "growth" without truly appreciating the important transformations\,
or changes it also makes\, which she intends to address. This may help an
alyse or predict where China will be going in the future by better underst
anding its previous path.\n\nCome and witness a novel perspective on the c
hanges of China that Ada has personally gone through at her unique positio
ns\, such as the early days of financial integration with the world\, how
fast Chinese bankers' mentalities change\, the 2003 downturn in Hong Kong\
, Olympics and China's new PR dilemma\, 512 earthquake and its effect in b
onding ordinary Chinese citizens\, and the financial crisis of 2008 as wel
l as the opportunities it presents.\n\n\nFor further information about the
talk or our society\, please see the attached poster for event and Camtes
sential society. Or please visit the website at http://www.camtessential.o
rg\n\n \n\nNote: \n\n1)Entrance is free for all. There will be a voluntary
opportunity to donate to Camtessential's Charity Division at the event\,
to help the talented but less affluent students in Chinese higher educatio
 n. Please kindly bring some money and show your support.\n\n \n\n2)Please
arrive at least 15 minutes in advance to secure a seat\, i.e. before 4.45p
 m. Late entries may not be admitted.\n\n
