DESCRIPTION:Yi completed her PhD in mathematics education in the Faculty o
 f Education in 2009. Since then\, she has been elected to a Royal Society 
 Education Research Fellowship (2009-2014)\, a Bye-Fellowship at Newnham Co
 llege (2009-2012)\, and a Research Fellowship at Clare Hall (2010-2013). T
 his seminar will be an opportunity to talk informally to a recent PhD grad
 uate in Education about the experience of applying for postdoctoral resear
 ch fellowships from an applicant's perspective (including accumulating rel
 evant experience during the PhD\, preparing research proposals and persona
 l statements for applications\, and attending interviews) and lessons lear
 nt along the way. This seminar will be of particular interest to PhD stude
 nts thinking about applying for postdoctoral research funding and research
  fellowships.
