lar attention to topographic and cryographic effects - Craig Stevens (Nati

DESCRIPTION:Southern McMurdo Sound forms an oceanic connection between the
western Ross Sea and the cavity beneath the combined Ross and McMurdo Ice
Shelves. In this talk I will present some recent results looking at smal
l-scale transport and mixing processes beneath sea ice. Particular attent
ion will be paid to shear microstructure observations near a ridge and als
o a glacier tongue and the role this might play in wider transport issues.
