DESCRIPTION:The number of exoplanets newly discovered increases rapidly wi
th time\,\nproviding new and sometime puzzling informations about their fo
rmation and\ntheir structure. In this talk\, I will examine our present un
derstanding of the internal structure \nand evolution of exoplanets. The de
tection of transiting planets around their parent star allow the \ndetermi
nation of their mass and radius\, and thus of their mean density. Such val
uable information \nindicates that a significant fraction of these planets
are enriched in heavy elements \n(ice\, rocks)\, as observed in the giant
planets of our Solar System. The\ntreatment of heavy materials in planeta
ry interior and the resulting\nuncertainties on the mass-radius relationsh
ip will be discussed.\nI will also address the case of short-period\, stro
ngly irradiated planets and \nreview the different mechanisms\, including
tidal dissipation\, \nwhich have been suggested to explain their anomalous
 ly large radii.
