DESCRIPTION:The selection of the speed of a wavefront through which a stab
 le state invades an unstable one has been very widely studied (since Fishe
 r and KPP) for homogeneous scalar semilinear reaction-diffusion equations.
  Respects in which the homogeneous case is non-generic when embedded withi
 n a heterogeneous setting will be highlighted.
