DESCRIPTION:In this talk we consider kinetic equations that model coarseni
ng phenomena which involve transport of mass and rearrangement due to coal
escence. One expects that solutions converge in the large-time regime to s
elf-similar form. However\, due to the nonlocal terms in the equations\, t
he study of self-similar solutions is not straightforward. We discuss seve
ral strategies that allow to establish existence\, uniqueness and decay pr
 operties of self-similar solutions.
