DESCRIPTION:The motion of a collisionless plasma\, a high-temperature\, lo
w-density\, ionized gas\, is described by the Vlasov-Maxwell equations. In
the presence of large velocities\, relativistic corrections are meaningfu
l\, and when magnetic effects are neglected this formally becomes the rela
tivistic Vlasov-Poisson system. Similarly\, if one takes the classical lim
it as the speed of light tends to infinity\, one obtains the classical Vl
asov-Poisson system. We study the long-time dynamics of these systems of P
DE and contrast the behavior when considering the cases of classical versu
s relativistic velocities and the monocharged (i.e.\, single species of io
 n) versus neutral plasma situations.
