DESCRIPTION:I will explain a conjectured formula for special values of\nL-
 functions of motives in terms of Euler characteristics of Weil-etale\ncoho
 mology.  This cohomology is also mostly conjectural\, but a very detailed
 \npicture is beginning to emerge.  Concrete examples will be given.
