DESCRIPTION:The paper analyses data from an official prevalence survey whi
 ch sampled 9\,000 young adolescents in Great Britain during 2008-9. Risk f
 actors are identified for a child (i) engaging in gambling and (ii) displa
 ying symptoms of problem gambling (conditional on gambling at\nall). Covar
 iates in the modelling reflect home\, school and peer influences. The surv
 ey also collected information on drinking and smoking and principal result
 s from modelling these behaviours are also noted.
