DESCRIPTION:This session will draw upon findings from the 14-19 Centre Res
earch Study 14-19 (CReST). This 5-year study is investigating the impact o
f key educational reforms for 14-19 year olds in England upon 52 schools a
nd colleges\, including special educational institutions. A significant ai
m of the study will be to influence educational policy formation and imple
mentation in this phase of education. Initial findings from case studies o
f 18 out of the 52 institutions have formed the basis of the data to be pr
esented. We will be looking at the factors affecting Principals’ decisio
ns regarding the extent to which their centre will engage with the reforms
. Additionally\, we will be looking at students’ experiences in the educ
ation system and their reactions to the reforms.
