DESCRIPTION:There are many different characterisations of Chebyshev polyno
 mials (with special weight) on several intervals with maximal number of de
 viation points. Some of them (conformal mappings on the comb domains\, Sch
 ottky-Burnside functions\, harmonic measures) will be discussed. The role 
 of harmonic measures will be illustrated by a short proof of the classical
  Bernstein inequality.\n
