 pace of curves with fibres\nbeing Jacobians of curves of genus g. I will\n
 discuss recent joint work with A. Verra\nwhere a complete classification o
 f J_g\nby Kodaira dimension has been carried out.\nThus J_g is a uniration
 al variety when g is at most 9\,\nhas Kodaira dimension 0 (respectively 19
 )\nwhen g=10 (respectively g=11)\, and is of\nKodaira dimension 3g-3 for a
 ll other cases.
