DESCRIPTION:Stefan problem is a well known free boundary problem modeling
a\nliquid-solid phase transition within a fixed domain $\\Omega$. We estab
lish a sharp nonlinear stability/instability criterion for the steady stat
e spheres in the Stefan problem with surface tension. The nonlinear stabil
ity proof relies on a high-order energy method and the introduction of sui
 table orthogonality conditions.
