DESCRIPTION:Case Study on the Cost of Migration\, Sherif Akoush\n\nWe prop
ose a system that makes use of renewable energy that is otherwise lost. Th
e viability of such an architecture is dependent on harnessing enough ener
gy to carry out a useful amount of computation without consuming a signifi
cant part of it for migrations between datacentres. In this work\, we pres
ent a simple and approximate case study to illustrate a broad overview of
 (i) the magnitude of energy that can be extracted from renewable energy re
sources and (ii) the\noverhead (in terms of energy and virtual machine av
ailability) of migration in the architecture. It is\nby no means an exact
model though it is sufficient to provide a useful insight on the system’
 s viability.\n\nIntroduction to Django\, Mattias Linnap\n\nTwo weeks ago B
ogdan finished his talk with the suggestion that you should build a websit
e during your PhD. I will introduce my new favourite web framework\, Djang
o\, and give a short demonstration.
