DESCRIPTION:Primordial inflation provides a sensible microphysical explana
tion for the properties of our observable universe on large scales. Also\,
the present universe seems to have entered a stage of low energy inflatio
 n. In theories with several vacua\, transitions between\ninflating vacua a
nd neighboring ones lead to the picture of an eternally inflating multiver
se\, where regions with different properties of the low energy physics can
be found sitting next to each other. I will review the\nstatus of the mat
hematical description of the multiverse\, some outstanding questions it ra
ises\, and some avenues for a resolution of these questions.
