DESCRIPTION:Excitatory synaptic transmission in the mammalian brain is med
iated by glutamate\nacting on two main types of ionotropic glutamate recep
tor\, known as AMPA and NMDA receptors.\nWhereas AMPA receptors are respon
sible for fast glutamatergic transmission\,\nNMDA receptors are important
for synaptic plasticity.\nIn my talk\, I will review recent findings about
the synaptic localisation of NMDA receptors\nrequired for long-term poten
tiation and depression at neocortical excitatory synapses.\n
