DESCRIPTION:We adopt the classical ALOHA scheme to the case when the trans
missions in a multiple-access system create noise in a certain neighbourho
od of the receiver. Two cases are considered: a discrete and a continuous
setting. We prove that the fluid limits of the systems' workload satisfy a
certain differential equation and\, via an analysis of this differential
equation\, obtain conditions sufficient for the system to be stable. We al
so discuss the behaviour of the fluid limits in the discrete case.
