  country’s capital city\, Port au Prince.\n\n*Biography:* Professor Davi
 d Sanderson is currently Director of the Centre for Development and Emerge
 ncy practice (CENDEP) at Oxford Brookes University. In December he underto
 ok a study in Haiti of urban responses by international NGOs.
