DESCRIPTION:In this talk we will explore cubic subdivision schemes for cur
 ves and surfaces in the vicinity of double knots. It turns out that double
  knots change the local behaviour of these schemes from primal to dual. Su
 bdivision schemes are an important technology for representing shapes\nlik
 e cars\, aeroplanes and Pixar characters.\nNo prior knowledge of subdivisi
 on methods will be assumed.
