DESCRIPTION:he first meeting of the Public and Popular History Seminar thi
 s term will take place this coming Tuesday\, 8 February\, at 5pm\, in the 
 Knox Shaw Room in Sidney Sussex. It will feature a talk by *Helen Geake* e
 ntitled *"Antiquities\, archaeology and the public"*. Helen is one of the 
 key members of Channel 4's popular and long-running archaeology series\, T
 ime Team. She is also a Finds Advisor (for post-Roman artefacts) for the P
 ortable Antiquities Scheme\, based at Cambridge University's Department of
  Archaeology. Before that she was assistant keeper of archaeology at Norwi
 ch Castle Museum. She has a doctorate from the University of York\; her ma
 jor research work has been on Anglo-Saxon burial practices in the seventh 
 and early eighth centuries\, studied through the objects deposited with bo
 dies in graves. Everybody welcome!
