DESCRIPTION:Schools are key locations where diverse young people could hav
e guided opportunities to practice roles\, skills\, understandings and rel
ationships for participation in democratic dialogue about social conflicts
. Yet opportunities for constructive conflict learning (and agency) are o
ften quite limited in schools\, especially for marginalized students. Tea
chers seem to have little institutional support for addressing conflicts i
n an open\, inclusive\, equitable\, participatory manner with diverse stud
ents\, and few opportunities to develop skills and confidence as conflict
dialogue facilitators. This paper examines how facilitated dialogue on di
fficult issues might be feasibly implemented in culturally diverse school
settings\, juxtaposing different types of school-based conflict dialogue t
