DESCRIPTION:The talk is concerned with a novel robust model predictive con
trol synthesis method termed \nparameterized tube model predictive control
. This novel proposal supersedes the state of the \nart robust model predi
ctive control algorithms including the several generations of tube model \
npredictive control as well as robust model predictive control utilizing t
he so–called disturbance \naffine control policy. Our method allows uniq
uely for simultaneous online optimization of state and \ncontrol tubes as
well as the corresponding control policy via single linear/quadratic progr
amme. \nThe employed parameterization of the state and control tubes and t
he associated induced control \npolicy offers greater generality compared
to competing methods while it retains the desirable \ndegree of computati
onal tractability. Under rather mild and natural assumptions\, the propose
d \nparameterized tube model predictive control provides a–priori guaran
tees of the desirable strong \nsystem theoretic properties including relev
ant set invariance and robust stability properties. We \nalso deliver seve
ral illustrative examples demonstrating clear advantages over the state of
the art \nrobust model predictive control synthesis methods. \n
