DESCRIPTION:Hello there!\n\nMy name's Paul and I'm on an important mission
to show and share with the world the location of real \n\nGarden of Eden
and cetnral site of the Agricultural (Neolithic) Revolution. I led the fie
ld walk \n\nthere in November 2009 and saw the damage being inflicted and
the urgent need for protection by \n\ngetting World Heritage Site status\,
requiring public support and official investigation.\n\n[img]http://files
.fbstatic.com/PostImages/1025188/0/84976f61-878c-4566-a454-a061cc7fdc34.jp
g[/img]\n\nThis location of the site was comprehensively mapped out by Chr
istian O'Brien in his 1985 book\, \n\n"[url=http://www.goldenageproject.or
g.uk/genius.php]The Genius of The Few" where he identified \n\nit th
rough descriptions given in the earliest Nippur Tablets (The Barton Cylind
er\, etc)\, Atrahasis \n\nand The Book of Enoch\, along with other mention
s in the Bible\, The Book of Jubilees\, The Koran etc. \n\nThe Sumerians w
ere first recorded to have written about this site and called it "Kharsag"
.\n\nEden was located on Google Earth by Edmund Marriage\, Director of The
Patrick Foundation's Golden Age \n\nProject in 2006. He discovered a mile
long Great Watercourse and other features in place as per \n\nO'Brien's m
ap. I led the field walk recently in an initial survey which has provided
the first video \n\n(unreleased) and photographic evidence of the site for
 peer review. Please see \n\n[url=http://www.goldenageproject.org.uk/khar
sagresearch_2.php]these maps for both Google Earth \n\nand Christian
O'Brien's placement of the remains of structures at this REAL place ident
ified as the \n\nstarting point of the Neolithic (Agricultural) Revolution
at around 9\,500BC\, soon after the end of \n\nthe last glacial - The You
nger Dryas.\n\n"Kharsag" in the Sumerian Nippur Tablets means "head enclos
ure". Eden itself comes from the Sumerian \n\nword "Edin" meaning "plain"
or "steppe". The entire Rashaya basin floods every 5-10 years with \n\nmil
lions of cubic gallons of water\, forming a huge lake that can still be pa
rtially seen on Google \n\nEarth from the last one in 2005-2006. We found
out from the Lebanese Red Cross that they had put dye \n\ndown a sinkhole
near the Great Watercourse that drains the entire basin. The dye came out
in the \n\nHasbani. After seeing all this\, I now strongly suspect that th
e people who built Kharsag's reservoir\, \n\ndam and watercourse did so to
control the Lebanese and Anti-Lebanese mountain run off waters and \n\ndi
rect them out through the Wadi El-Neirab into the lowlands of "Eden"\, the
area around and likely to \n\nthe South of Kharsag\, which links into the
Jordan river and associated famous valley...\n\n[img]http://www.paygan.co
m/eden/images/edenflood.JPG[/img]\n\n[img]http://files.fbstatic.com/PostIm
ages/1025188/0/beecddc5-0970-447d-bf55-3a0851ded56b.jpg[/img]\n\n[url=http
://www.goldenageproject.org.uk/kharsagresearch_8.phpp]Professor Daniel Zoh
ary advanced \n\nthe suggestion that grain was first cultivated in o
ne location and this should be an enticing \n\nsuggestion for archaeologis
ts to prove at this site. If there was such a massive originating site for
\n\nthe Neolithic Revolution\, it might re-shape current theories substan
tially\, regardless of any \n\nreligious links involved in the locating of
 such a site. \n\nSteve Ga
gne also gives some great supporting \n\nevidence in his paper about
early crop domestication in the Levant.\n\nThe centre of cultural diffusi
on at the time was the Garden of Eden\, or Kharsag if you prefer - a \n\nb
ounded area in the mountains\, sending out water and knowledge to the gras
sland/steppe area around\, \n\nknown as Eden.The Rashaya Basin is 8 miles
North of Mount Hermon\, 25 miles East of Damascus\, near the \n\ntown of R
ashaya El-Wadi and village of Kfar Qooq.\n\nThe theories about Eden being
a central site of the agricultural revolution between the Tigris and \n\nE
uphrates are disproven archaeologically as this area would have been unsui
table for agriculture\, \n\nwhich required the rainfall and mountain water
s of the Lebanon and Anti-Lebanon ranges\, not in Iraq \n\nor Bahrain... a
nd that Sumerian civilization didn't move to Eridu\, their first city unti
l around \n\n5\,500BC. The starting point of the agricultural revolution w
hich is currently best suggested c. 7\,000 \n\nB.C by "Kurgan Hypothesis"
and Colin Renfrew's "Anatolian Hypothesis"\, which anyone knowledgeable on
\n\nfinds may well speculate misses the facts by being too far north and
up to 1\,500 years too late.\n\nEvidence that Anatolia is too North includ
e the the development of agriculture at Jericho\, cultivated \n\ncrops are
also found between 9\,800 B.C and 8\,400 B.C at Tell Aswad and starting a
t Tell Abu Hureyra\, \n\nnot very far to the North by 9\,050BC. [url=http:
//www.goldenageproject.org.uk/pressfig.php]Cultivated \n\nfigs were
also dug up on the other side of Mount Hermon at Gilgal I\, dated to 9\,50
0-9\,300 by \n\nKislev et al not far from Kharsag / Eden. Perhaps the bigg
est problem with the Northern Theories are \n\nDame Kathleen Kenyon's exca
vations of Jericho\, which shows organised agriculture long before that \n
\ndate to the South of both Anatolia (Turkey) and Lebanon. Also of interes
t at Jericho is the 600 metre \n\nx 9 metre x 3 metre rock cut ditch radio
-carbon dated prior to the current dating of agriculture. \n\nTell Aswad a
lso has revealed evidence of agriculture and was inhabited between c. 9\,8
00-8\,400 B.C. \n\nThe Great Watercourse in Eden / Kharsag looks to have b
een approximately the same specification - 9 \n\nmetres deep by 3 metres w
ide and extends over a mile\, the sinkhole section is shown below. I have
\n\nadded another image\, as if you look carefully\, you can see a rock cu
t bridge extending over this \n\nsection\, with a groove alligned to Mount
Hermon\, from which I speculate hung a giant Cedar sluice \n\n(water cont
rol) gate.\n\n\n\n
\n\nI'
ve spent a lot of last year working on Wikipedia\, figuring out where I st
and academically on this. \n\nIt's been a fierce battle with hardcore scep
tics\, armed with little peer reviewed material as \n\nammunition. It has
resulted in the creation of pages (often after massive heated debates you
can read \n\nabout in the discussions) on [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wik
i/Kharsag]Kharsag\, \n\n[url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_
O%27Brien]Christian O'Brien\, \n\n[url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/
George_Aaron_Barton]George Aaron Barton and \n\n[url=http://en.wikip
edia.org/wiki/Barton_Cylinder]The Barton Cylinder - mankind's oldest
\n\n"religious" story.\n\nThere are various accounts of the Garden of Ede
n outside the Bible\, including the Koran. \n\n[url=www.goldenageproject.o
rg.uk/kharsag_texts_archive.php ]The Nippur Tablets\, including the
\n\nBarton Cylinder are most important source documents describing the loc
ation of the Garden of Eden\, \n\nand it's inhabitants\, the first Sumeria
n Pantheon (An\, Ninkharsag\, Enlil & Enki). These were dug up \n\nin the
foundations of the temple and library at Nippur by John Henry Haynes in 18
98 and translated by \n\nGeorge Aaron Barton. These are the oldest religio
us/story texts in the world\, pre-dating the pyramid \n\ntexts by at least
half a century. O'Brien translated these stories as the founding of an ag
rarian \n\ncommunity by people\, rather than Gods in a time pre-dating "re
ligion" as we know it.\n\nAnother is the [url=www.goldenageproject.org.uk/
enoch_chronicals_01.php]Slavonic Book of Enoch 2\n\n produced around
the 2nd century BC from materials with a much older tradition\, discovere
d by \n\nCanon Charles and translated by his friend Dr Morfill\, the Profe
ssor of Slavonic Studies at Oxford. \n\nIt is from Morfill's work that we
have the clearest accounts of the Garden of Eden. O’Brien added to \n\nC
harles and Morfill’s translations.\n\nAlso we have an Akkadian work\, [u
rl=www.amazon.com/Atra-Hasis-Babylonian-W-G-\n\nLambert/dp/1575060396/ref=
sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1296582310&sr=8-1 ]Atra-hasis\, Tablet 1 which wa
s \n\ncopied by a scribe called Ku-aya\, in the reign of Ammi-saduqa about
1635 B.C.\, from non-existant\, \n\nearlier material. It is indicated tha
t Ku-aya translated an earlier Sumerian tablet into Akkadian. \n\nTranslat
ions of the Akkadian text have been made by Lambert and Millard\, two Oxfo
rd scholars \n\nfollowing in the footsteps of Canon Charles. Atra-hasis te
lls the story of a rebellion of the workers \n\nbuilding the Great Waterco
urse in The Garden of Eden and of them surrounding Enlil's Great House in
a \n\nmob with tools raised. It then tells the story of the Annunaki counc
il creating "salaried man" and \n\ncausing a massive rift in our developme
nt from utalitarian to capitalist objectives as a race. From \n\nthis we g
et various legends of "fallen angels" and another metaphor for the Agricul
tural Revolution.\n\nI'm looking to promote Eden / Kharsag and protect it
for World Heritage\, as I can see the benefits of \n\narchaeology catching
up with religion and showing it's source as scientifically as possible.\n
\nWhat you can do to help? Well\, click on the links\, do some reading and
if you're interested and \n\nsupport the promotion of this knowledge. The
Golden Age Project has some great information regarding \n\nThe Kharsag R
esearch Project. "The G
enius of The \n\nFew" is the source book covering O'Brien's discover
y of The Garden of Eden.\n\nIf anyone can assist to get a review of the ab
ove book into a major newspaper or peer reviewed \n\njournal - positive or
negative - I can then go walkabout on Wikipedia again with a really big g
un \n\nagainst the sceptics. If anyone wants the most amazing topic for a
thesis\, I cannot think of anything \n\nbigger than this. \;-)\n\nAlso\, i
f anyone wants to visit\, I have the contacts to help arrange a visit to t
he area in \n\ncomparative safety and comfort. Qualified archaeologists\,
or students to investigate the Rashaya \n\nBasin South\, funding for polle
n core analysis\, radio-carbon dating and geo-phys surveys surveys is \n\n
required\, along with further peer reviewable material and the attention o
f UNESCO and the Lebanese \n\nMinistry of Culture.\n\nI like to imagine th
e time when that watercourse was flowing\, the two great houses of life an
d \n\nknowledge were shining silver in the moonlight. Camp fires from the
workers houses were dotted all \n\naround the slopes into the valley. Peop
le settling down for the first time and learning to cultivate \n\nplants a
nd organise our race. When the ruins of the large irrigation system and da
m we found were \n\noperational\, it must have made it very lush and green
back then with likely far more trees. \n\nLet me know if you have any que
stions\, can offer any assistance or want more photos to examine.\n\n[url=
