DESCRIPTION:Nanoscale: a challenge that gave to humankind a big dream. Aft
er the famous talk of Prof. Feyman\nthe nanotechnologies have aroused in t
he scientist scenario new ways to change and manipulate\nthe material prop
erties and performances. Nanoscale is an intermediate scale that bridge th
e\nmicroscale and the atomic scale. The nanoscale exhibited its effectiven
ess in different research\nand industrial areas such as in the manufacturi
ng of advanced electronic equipment or in the\ncatalysis of chemical proce
sses. Among the technologies that are nowadays used to realize\nnanoscaled
materials or that are able to manipulate the matter at the nanoscale the\
nelectrospinning technology is one of the most promising and growing.\n\nI
n the present talk some of the main features of electrospinning process wi
ll be introduced as well\nas the main applications of polymeric electrospu
n nanofibrous mats (where the nanofibers are\ncollected in a random way or
following a dedicated architecture) are introduced. In particular\nsome a
pplications of polymeric nanofibrous scaffolds for tissue engineering are
described. During\nthe talk some details about the electrospinning equipme
nt design will be explained as well as a\nfuture challenge in the bionics
 will be briefly introduced.
