 r health and how we access healthcare?\n\nInterest in the wider determinan
 tes of health is growing among health care professionals and the British p
 opulation. Recent reports showed that the north of England was still signi
 ficantly behind the south in terms of health outcomes and people are quest
 ioning why. Come and listen to Professor Graham Scambler discuss the socia
 l factors that affect medical care and population health. Prof Scambler is
  the author of 'Sociology as applied to medicine'\, a key text for the fir
 st year SCHI course\, so this talk may be of particular interest to the 1s
 t year medice in preparation for the sociology exam. \n\nMonday 14th March
