 es.\n\nOur next event will take place on the evening of Wednesday 20 April
 \, with a lecture from Professor Mike Stratton (Sanger Institute)\, titled
  'Exploring the Cancer Genome.’ A reception with drinks and canapes will
  follow.\n\nFollowing the 25 March special Science issue on cancer\, Profe
 ssor Stratton will discuss next generation sequencing technologies\, which
  are set to reveal the full repertoire of mutated genes that drive the spe
 ctrum of human cancers. Professor Stratton will shed light on the processe
 s that\, for the most part remain uncharacterized\, cause the mutations in
  the first place-providing a glimpse of the studies that will transform ou
 r perspective on human cancer and will shape future therapeutic and preven
