DESCRIPTION:The Brascamp--Lieb inequalities simultaneously generalise clas
 sical inequalities in analysis such as the multilinear Holder\, Young conv
 olution and Loomis--Whitney inequalities. In this talk we will describe ce
 rtain geometric and combinatorial generalisations of these multilinear ine
 qualities which arise naturally in harmonic analysis and PDE. Particular e
 mphasis will be placed on their intimate connected with the recent restric
 tion theory of the Fourier transform.\n
