DESCRIPTION:A reacting fluid in a closed vessel may lead to a thermal runa
way if the rate of heat generation exceeds that of heat removal at the rea
ctor wall. Natural convection\, arising due to the density difference betw
een the heated and cooled parts of the fluid\, can delay or suppress an ex
plosion. Such an effect will be analysed using time scales of the heating
and cooling mechanisms in the system.
