DESCRIPTION:Thiamine plays an important role in cellular metabolism. Human
and  animal need to uptake thiamine de novo. In other thiamine-producing
species\, thiamine is further phosphorylated into more active form\, thia
mine pyrophosphate (TPP). TPP is regulated directly by riboswitches which
are series of untranslated ribonucleotides. The aim of my PhD project is t
o elucidate different aspects of thiamine metabolism by in order to gain k
nowledge about riboswitches and further apply into technological perspecti
 ves.\n
