DESCRIPTION:Tensegrity structures are novel structures with high aesthetic
  impact. However\, up to present\, they have only served artistic purposes
 . This presentation focuses on the structural behaviour of double-layer te
 nsegrity grids and their potential to serve structural engineering applica
 tions. Within this context\, the experimental results obtained from the la
 boratory tests carried out on a 25 sq. m half-scale tensegrity space frame
  are presented and discussed.\n
