DESCRIPTION:This presentation analyses the policy issues that are the core
  of the current debate about a new post-2012 global climate change regime.
  It briefly explains the background that led to the parameters underlying 
 the current negotiations. It then traces back the steps that were taken be
 tween December 2007 and December 2009 to attempt to shape that regime and 
 explains the broader context in which the Copenhagen Accord emerged. It an
 alyses that Accord\, what the different negotiating blocs got out of it\, 
 what the Accord may achieve and what it has not. This is briefly put into 
 context with a few geo-political considerations.\n\nThere will be a drinks
