DESCRIPTION:Working with young people is hugely enriching\, academically a
nd personally. As well as disseminating findings and sharing knowledge in
order to support teaching and learning in schools\, you also have the chan
ce to inspire the next generation of researchers in your subject. In the p
rocess\, you will develop the kinds of communication skills that are inval
uable for your research – whether it be writing for publication\, lectur
ing and teaching\, or putting together grant applications.\n\nThe lecture
will begin with a case study from other researchers to show how they have
worked with schools and what the benefits were. Representatives from the C
ommunity Affairs team\, who run the University’s *Rising Stars* programm
e\, will then give a quick\, practical guide to what to bear in mind when
thinking about educational outreach. Finally\, there will be a Q&A with th
e speakers. \n\nBooking is essential. "Please click here.":http://www.trai
