DESCRIPTION:Getting your research into the print/broadcast media is still
an incredibly powerful way of sharing ideas and findings with a mass audie
nce\, but journalists are busy people with tight deadlines and a high turn
over of possible news stories. How do you get their attention for your res
earch? How do you build a good relationship with the media\, so that they
keep coming back? What are the potential pitfalls?\n\nThe lecture will beg
in with a case study from other researchers to show how they have worked w
ith print/broadcast media and what the benefits were. A representative fro
m the local media will also be on hand to explain what catches their eye\,
what doesn’t\, and how to pitch your ideas effectively to a mass audien
ce. Finally\, there will be a Q&A with the speakers.\n\nBooking is essenti
