DESCRIPTION:We have developed the developing zebrafish fish as a model to 
 study the host pathogen interactions of tuberculosis.  Its optical transpa
 rency and genetic tractability have enabled us to make surprising discover
 ies about the steps and consequences of TB pathogenesis that have fundamen
 tal and immediate implications for its treatment.  These basic findings wi
 ll be presented together with how they dictate a reconsideration of key as
 pects of TB treatment.
