DESCRIPTION:We study a class of one-shot quantum protocols which can be ar
ranged in a family tree within the resource framework of Quantum Informati
on Theory. Obtaining a characterization of the optimal rates of the protoc
ol which is at the apex of the family tree allows us to obtain expressions
for the rates of all other protocols in the tree. Our one-shot results yi
eld the traditionally known rates of these protocols in the asymptotic\, m
emoryless scenario. In addition they also yield asymptotic rates of protoc
ols involving correlated resources. Thus we provide a unifying mathematica
l framework for studying a class of quantum protocols involving arbitrary
resources. This is joint work with Min-Hsiu Hsieh.
