DESCRIPTION:Consider a population of fixed size that\nevolves over time.  
 At each time\, the genealogical\nstructure of the population can be descri
 bed by a\ncoalescent tree whose branches are traced back to\nthe most rece
 nt common ancestor of the population.\nThis gives rise to a tree-valued st
 ochastic process\,\nknown as the evolving coalescent.  We will study this\
 nprocess in the case of populations whose genealogy is\ngiven by the Bolth
 ausen-Sznitman coalescent.  We will\nfocus on the evolution of the time ba
 ck to the most\nrecent common ancestor and the total length of\nbranches i
 n the tree.
