DESCRIPTION:Gap junctions are protein oligomers that self-organize to form
  pores linking the interiors of adjacent cells.  They are observed to aggr
 egate in the contact region. I discuss the Braun-Abney-Owicki mechanism\, 
 which is designed to rationalize this assembly\, in terms of Helfrich memb
 rane fluctuations.
